Dubh Balm is an old fashioned Drawing poultice.
Activated charcoal & Bentonite clay are the magic ingredients in this tub of goodness that helps to draw out any foreign objects that get stuck in your skin. Lavender, Frankincense & Tea Tree Essential oils help to clean the wound while the Calendula infused organic Olive & Sunflower oils keep the skin soft and supple making it easier for the object to come out.
We have used it for drawing out deep seated thorns and glass and other foreign objects. We have also had good success using it for drawing out infections, for pimples, on painful insect bites and boils.
Dubh Balm is light, non greasy but black so if you are using it to treat a wound on the body, it is best to be smeared on under a plaster or bandage.
I usually leave it on for at least 24 hours, then reapply until I am satisfied that the wound is disinfected, or the foreign object has been drawn out. I have noticed that if a thorn/ glass is impeded by a small flap of skin, this will prevent the object from coming out.
If you are using it on your face, it will wipe away with a wet cloth or face wipes.

As this is a natural product with as few ingredients as possible, this balm may get softer in warmer weather. Don't worry just put it somewhere cooler and it will harden up again.
